Example of a Sample Request
Our largest manufacturing client is composed of several divisions, which include administration, accounting,
executive, information technology and warehouse operations. The human resources department of this company
had never used "professional" background screening or drug testing as part of their hiring process. Instead,
they had devised an "in-house" process of screening applicants that eventually became cumbersome and
time-consuming. When Workers' Comp claims and drug usage began to accelerate in their workplace, they
finally called
UNISOURCE.
Our client requested that
UNISOURCE develop "screening packages" that would identify the specific applicant
information needed for hiring viable candidates in each division. The collateral benefit of this change is
that it would establish consistent hiring practices for the company as a whole. Additionally, each division
would need to be invoiced separately for their screening services, and the hiring of all divisions would
need to be monitored by the human resources department.
As an extra measure of precaution, the decision was made to drug test all warehousing applicants and drivers.
Consistent Search Packages Per Division, Division Billing and Drug Testing in One Convenient Resource
As outlined above,
UNISOURCE helped this client create "screening packages" which have unified the company's
applicant hiring process.
UNISOURCE configured its web-based reporting system to allow the human resources
department full access to all applicant reports,
while specific users in other divisions are limited to
specific information only. Additionally, separate billing accounts were established for each division
and are monitored through the human resources department.
Applicants who are to be drug tested are sent to the
UNISOURCE collection facility. The human resources
department specifies to
UNISOURCE whether the test is to be collected as a
urine test or a
hair follicle
test. The test is conducted and the results are forwarded to the client, usually within 24 to 72 hours.
UNISOURCE maintains relationships with hundreds of collection facilities across the nation. For clients in
other parts of the United States,
UNISOURCE quickly identifies and establishes a relationship
with a collection facility that is conveniently located for each client.
All of these components, Background Screening, Drug Testing, Invoicing, Management/ Statistical Reports, and User access
levels have been consolidated for our client into one complete report per applicant, which is maintained and managed on
our web-based reporting system. This is a truly convenient and cost-effective resolution for this very busy company.
