Example of a Special Request
The gaming industry has grown considerably in recent years. Like many corporations that maintain large numbers of employees,
hiring hundreds of applicants at a time is the only way to keep up with the demands of growth. Our client had instituted
pre-screening for identity and criminal backgrounds, but had not included drug testing as part of their screening criteria.
Substance abuse eventually began to emerge as a problem in their workplace.
Addiction to drugs or alcohol cannot always be identified during the applicant interviewing process, nor is it always shared
by past employers, for fear of lawsuits. The affects of drugs in the workplace include loss of productivity, higher medical
costs and increased Workers' Comp claims.
To stop the problem, our client requested that a convenient monthly drug testing program be implemented in each of its three
divisions. The program would be designed to establish a drug-use policy for the company, as well as maintain a drug-free environment.
Convenient Drug Testing Program
To manage drug usage among 6,000 employees and three divisions,
UNISOURCE created a monthly drug testing program that randomly
selects which employees will be tested by division, and then accomplishes the testing via our mobile drug testing service. This
convenient method of drug testing offers the efficiency and reliability needed to satisfy this request.
